Johnson & Johnson Vision is recruiting for a R&D Principal Process Engineer, located in Groningen, The Netherlands.
As a member of the R&D department within Johnson & Johnson Surgical Vision, the successful candidate:
Leads the ideation, development, and introduction of process innovation in several R&D projects or programs.
Oversees and takes the leading position in the manufacturing readiness activities in several NPI projects or programs.
Acts as Technical Leader in NPI projects that rely on innovative process improvements.
Leads the design transfer of new equipment, new test methods and new products.
Promotes and facilitates continuous innovation on technology and processes.
Leads Management in coaching and developing technical skills of engineers and technicians.
Performs mentor role. Proactively advises and shares opinions with subordinates, peers, and senior management.
Scope of Responsibilities:
Leads the planning and execution of R&D engineering activities to ensure manufacturing process readiness for transfer new products.
Defines the strategy and coordinates manufacturing process readiness activities for NPI projects.
Contributes to the definition of the strategy for NPI programs and works closely with R&D Subject Matter Experts to effectively execute in compliance with Design Control Procedure.
Leads others and conducts hands-on process development and engineering using strong experiment and statistical analysis techniques.
Takes ownership in planning and executing product and process development strategies.
Authors and review procedures, protocols, and technical reports under Design Control for NPIs.
Partners with leaders and experts to integrate standards into strategies and tactics associated with development of new or improved products and process technology.
Defines strategies to maintain and expand relationships with external partners and suppliers.
Responsible for workflow production, training of new employees on covered jobs, answering job-related questions in one or more areas.
Define strategic areas to expand department proprietary knowledge and contribute to the generation of IP.
Presents engineering concepts and results for function leaders as well as potential and existing partners. Maximizes impact and value of expertise.
Adheres to environmental policy, procedures, and supports department environmental objectives. Engages in Credo-based decision-making.
A minimum of a Master’s Degree is required; preferably in an Engineering discipline.
Experience and Skills:
10 years in similar role.
Experience in medical device industry.
Experience with statistical design, analysis of experiments, test method validations and process qualifications.
Working knowledge of process characterization.
Working knowledge on ISO 13485 and ISO 11979
Strong communication, collaboration, influencing, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required.
