Mechanical Engineer
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to support the growing business and new product developments for our X-ray detectors for use in medical, dental and industrial applications.

Your responsibilities

Within a team of Mechanics and Assembly development engineers you will be responsible for carrying out design and development work to achieve the required objectives in mechanical detector design & tooling design.

From start of the product development up to the Release for Supply (RFS) Milestone, the Mechanical Engineer is responsible within the project team for ensuring that source and design files are implemented accurately, correctly and completely respecting the applicable design rules.

This includes responsibility for the completion and quality of the overall reporting, for both internal and external customers.

As part of the R&D organization you will report to the Technical Group Manager of the M&A team.

Your Key Activities

  • You determine the tasks to be performed in consultation with the Assembly & Mechanics Architect, Assembly Development Engineers, Project Leaders, NPI Engineers and the Technical Group Manager.
  • You have an eye for re-use, manufacturability, quality and a balance between performance, cost and yield.
  • You organize reviews and progress meetings regarding the mechanical aspects of your projects.
  • You report on the design results achieved and record them in logs, reports and drawings, following good documentation practice and other elements of ISO 9001 and ISO 13485.
  • You draw up specifications for work to be outsourced, in consultation with the Senior Mechanical Engineer and Strategic Purchasing Manager, who seek suitable suppliers.
  • You ensure that the necessary facilities are in place and report bottlenecks to the relevant managers.
  • If necessary, you perform partial tasks within the R&D department that are not covered.
  • As (Senior) Mechanical Engineer you’re furthermore responsible for keeping your knowledge up to date, maintaining contacts within the field and being a source of information, coach and motivator for colleagues
  • Qualifications

    We are looking for someone

  • With a University Degree (BSc or MSc) in Mechanical Engineering.
  • With at least 5 years of experience in precision mechanics (including reporting of results).
  • Who is quality driven.
  • Who has hands-on mentality.
  • With good documentation practices and project- and stakeholder management skills.
  • With intermediate to advanced level of English language skills.
  • It would be great if you

  • Have experience with Inventor Professional.
  • Are familiar with VAULT usage.
  • Have knowledge about X-ray detectors / materials / treatments.
  • Are familiar with risk management (ISO13971).
  • Are interested in reliability aspects of product development.
