Manager, Group Procurement

This role can be based in UK or Netherlands

  • Procurement management is at the heart of the entity / Liberty Global Business strategy, focusing on a total external spend/purchased value of 8 billion Euro in entity / Liberty Global, covering direct and indirect.
  • The job holder manages the sourcing activities for a commodity for the entire Source to Contract process by executing the Tendering & Supplier selection, Contracting & Implementation and Contract & Supplier Management activities for the local spend and supporting them for the global spend.
  • Lead contracting for new and updated contracts and contract management for current contracts for centralized spend and support the contract management activities for the local spend
  • Lead supplier commercial relationship management for assigned suppliers and support the strategic relationship management for all suppliers
  • The candidate need to be able to quickly develop deep knowledge of the supply market and related industries to enable the development of optimum sourcing solutions to meet short and long term business objectives.
  • Be a key procurement ambassador for our business stakeholders in the center as well as in the markets we are operating in.
  • KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

    Four result areas: Sourcing, Contracting, Contract management, Supplier Relation management

    Sourcing and contracting for Centralized spend:

  • Contributing to and supporting the developing business strategy for Group Procurement categories / commodities assigned.
  • Supporting Results Planning & Recognition, demand analysis, supply analysis, sourcing strategy development, Tendering & Supplier selection, Contracting & Implementation and Contract & Supplier Relationship Management activities
  • Identifying savings opportunities for through leveraging local spend, Group development initiatives and local savings initiatives that can be deployed on a larger, Group scale.
  • Reporting on Affiliate and Group savings initiatives
  • Contributing and supporting Tendering & Supplier selection, Contracting & Implementation and Contract & Supplier Relationship Management activities
  • Improving cash flow by vendor financing and payment conditions
  • Contributing and supporting Contract Management activities for Group-held agreements
  • Developing Group contract structure for roll out to the Affiliates
  • Sourcing and contracting For Local spend:

  • Supporting Results Planning & Recognition activities through regular interaction with key stakeholders
  • Cross referencing local and Group initiatives to leverage best practice.
  • Providing markets with all information to implement global strategies locally
  • Support Tendering & Supplier selection and Contracting & Implementation as appropriate
  • Contract Management

  • Ensuring the proper contracting for new and updated Group contracts and proper contract management for current contracts for global spend and support the contract management activities for the local spend.”
  • Supplier Management:

  • For global suppliers, helping to manage Supplier Relationship Management activities related to the commercial relationship, in concert with Group stakeholders
  • Helping to develop relationships in concert with Group stakeholders
  • Support Supplier Relationship Management activities for local suppliers
  • KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

    PREFERRED EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Academic background (Bachelor): preferably in business administration or finance / procurement or engineering
  • SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Quick learning abilities and the keen interest to learn new categories and industries.
  • Business savvy
  • Political savvy
  • Relevant experience in Procurement
  • Relevant experience in an international / multi-country / matrix environment
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, with a strong focus on customer service
  • Strong analytical skills, coupled with general business understanding and the ability to pro-actively identify new opportunities, building organizational commitment to act on these.
  • Strong communicator and good (virtual) team builder with strong customer focus. Ability to work independently and take decisions as and when required.
  • Able to liaise effectively with vendors and possesses strong contract negotiation skills covering complex agreements
  • Strong commercial acumen enabling the creation of compelling, fact based presentations which influence and persuade stakeholders to move and agree to the desired outcome.
  • Stakeholder management, with the proven ability to establish and maintain effective working partnerships at all levels through taking a collaborative approach with a wide range of groups, including corporate departments and affiliates, vendors, as well as other external parties. 
  • Leads by example in an open, friendly and honest manner, always leading with best practice.
  • Exhibits a can-do mentality, pragmatic, flexible, drives for excellent results, strong delivery focus
  • Advanced skills in MS Office (Excel / Access / PP etc.)
  • Demonstrates integrity: is the ‘conscience of the organization’, working collectively, not individually.
  • Possesses a Global mind set. Consistently considers issues and ideas using a Global perspective
