You have the opportunity to manage multidisciplinary (e.g. software, electronics, mechanics) or cross-functional (e.g. marketing, supply chain, development) project team(s), in order to realize the agreed content/deliverables, product quality, timing and budget.

You are responsible for

  • Formulating the (sub) project plan, in consultation with management and other parties concerned on base of the requirements
  • Organizing the resources to be used (quality, time, allocation, budget and information), helps the team to organize and specifies the quality standard in the processes
  • Identifying the risks of the project (f.e. specs, costs, planning, etcetera) and develops scenarios to overcome these risks by defining corrective actions and driving the projects to closure
  • Coaching and directing project team members and gives them operational guidance, both technically and organizationally, including agile software development when applicable (where necessary, directs sub-Is responsible and facilitates for implementation and realization and release (if applicable) by the project team according to the project plan (specification, quality, time, money, information) and organization
  • Representing the (sub)-project team in the overall project to optimize fit for use and overall effectiveness
  • Gathering and integrates project performance and progress information. Reports on the progress of the project with an agreed frequency on quality, status, time, and money to senior management and to the project member
  • Ensuring that there is an effective transfer and archiving of the project results and the associated knowledge
  • Reporting on employees’ performance to the hierarchical superior of the employees for the purpose of appraisal
  • Ensuring requirements and business case are defined, completed and approved
  • Building and maintaining the project organization, helps the team to organize, chooses or coaches on the way of working and selects the adequate tools (tailors the approach to the specific project) and defines the interfaces with other functions, internal and external Philips
  • Quality initiatives to ensure quality deliverables of subsystems delivered
  • Deploying process improvements, supports continuous improvement of teams and makes the project organization efficient and transparent, in line with departmental and project processes and compliance to corporate policies/rules/procedures

    The R&D PMO team in the Image Guided Therapy (IGT) business with 25 experienced project managers, managing cross-functional assignments varying from small activities to big projects.

    We collaborate with the mechanic-, electronic-, software-groups, system design cluster, customer service, procurement, operations and regulatory teams. We make sure we add value to our customers by having a close collaboration with the application specialists who voice our customer’s needs.

    To succeed in this role, you’ll need a customer-first attitude and the following

  • Bachelor/Master education in Mechanical, Electrical or Software Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as Project Manager (background in medical device development environment is considered a plus)
  • Experience in managing projects or activities End to End.
  • Strong at building coalitions, excellent in communication
  • Consistent track record on building and motivating robust teams
  • Knowledge of system development, regulatory compliance and healthcare market.
  • Validated excellent presentation, verbal and written skills. Proficient in English.
